Introduction

Sri Ganesha Temple, located in Plano, Texas, was established in 2006 by the Hindu Temple of North Texas (HTNT), born out of discussions among friends concerned about the religious needs of the growing Hindu community in North Texas. The meticulous planning involved selecting a suitable location, securing sponsors, and obtaining nonprofit status. By March 2006, the temple commenced operations at 910 West Parker Road, Suite 340, Plano, TX, focusing on Hindu religious services, including the Prana Prathishtapana of Sri Ganesha and Lord Shiva.

In November 2009, Sri Ganesha Temple underwent a grand relocation to 6428 & 6508 K-Ave, Plano, TX, marking a significant transition from its initial Parker Road location. The relocation was accompanied by a procession, showcasing religious fervor and dedication. Over the past three years, the temple has been pivotal in addressing the religious and spiritual needs of North Texas Hindus. The unwavering support from devotees has facilitated the acquisition of 10 acres of land near the current location, paving the way for a comprehensive five-year plan. This plan encompasses the construction of a permanent temple, installation of granite idols, establishment of a Learning Center, a Cultural Resource Center, and a Kalyana Mantapam. The journey, marked by devotees’ dedication and blessings, signifies a promising future for Sri Ganesha Temple as a central hub for Hindu faith, culture, and values in North Texas.
