About ShreeGanesh.com

ShreeGanesh.com: Your Gateway to Lord Shree Ganesh’s Divine World

Lord Shree Ganesh is the god of wisdom, knowledge and prosperity, and the remover of obstacles. Millions of people around the world pray to him before they start something new.

ShreeGanesh.com is a website only about Lord Ganesha. It started in May 2003 as the first website dedicated to Lord Ganesha, and for more than 20 years it has shared his stories, mantras and temples with devotees around the world.

A modern site, rebuilt in 2026

The ShreeGanesh.com you see today was rebuilt from the ground up in September 2026. The site first went online in May 2003, but it no longer uses that design. It has been completely redesigned twice:

• September 2026: the latest complete redesign, built from the ground up. Every page now works on phones, tablets and computers, loads fast, and is easy to read. The site now runs on fast, reliable AWS infrastructure. The online prayer was also completely rebuilt with modern technology, so it is faster and works smoothly on every device.
• 2020: an earlier complete redesign and a move to WordPress, with much more content, a mobile friendly design, and pages easier for search engines to read.

We keep improving the site, both the experience for our readers and the technology behind it.

Our aim

Our aim is simple: to share clear and useful knowledge about Lord Ganesha with everyone, wherever they live. Whether you have prayed to Ganesha all your life or are just curious about him, we hope you find something here that brings you closer to him.

Our approach

Lord Ganesha is a deity of the Hindu faith. What we know of him comes from Hindu scriptures such as the Puranas, from tradition, and from the stories told about him for centuries. We present those stories as Hindu mythology and explain what they mean and what their symbols stand for.

ShreeGanesh.com is not written from blind faith. We explain what the tradition says, and why, without asking anyone to accept it unquestioned. The site is for devotees who pray to Ganesha and for anyone curious about him, whatever their beliefs.
